Hello! I'm James
This ePortfolio is primarily a representation of my journey through College Park Scholars. Included are also some personal projects and other major academic endeavors. In the below works timeline you can find short summaries of documents written exclusively for scholars, which are all available for viewing in the 'DOWNLOADS' section of the website. To view previous introduction statements to see growth over time, click here.

Below the timeline are major artifacts of academic nature or personal interest. This includes my newer game design portfolio, which while more unprofessional, has a closer focus on my personal projects. If you would like to see how I spend my free time, I would highly recommend checking that ePortfolio out, as it contains the majority of my extra projects, some of which are available for download.

In lieu of an extended paragraph about myself, I have opted to make the 'about me'/personal statement section of this page a separate viewable document. This can be viewed directly by clicking here.

WORKS
CPPL REFLECTION

I chose this reflection in particular as it gives a little more background on myself through the context of leadership specifically. It also discusses some specifics about myself that are not on the main page.
PLCY POLICY PAPER

I particularly liked writing this paper as I had a lot of freedom in how I interpreted the writing, and came up with a relatively creative response to the prompt. This paper's structure was also better than my other Policy Papers, as I had a better idea of what I wanted to write and how I wanted to write the paper before actually producing it.
MYSELF AS A LEADER TODAY

A summary regarding what I aspire to be as a leader.
SEMESTER ONE REFLECTION
"EXPECTATIONS VS REALITY"
A summary of my first semester of classes at UMD.
SEMESTER TWO REFLECTION
"CPPL101 FINAL ANALYSIS"
A reflection on my second semester in CPPL, and a small look into my RFP Project.
RESUME

My resume. This pretty much sums up everything on the site and goes into more detail on specific points.
PRACTICUM REFLECTION
"CPSP339P FINAL REPORT"
This is a final report on my time as a TA for ENES100 (Intro to Engineering). It details what I did as a TA, but focuses more on the leadership structure and aspects of leadership presented in the job, and by my superiors.
Located here is the PowerPoint Presentation I used to teach C++ code to my students in a lecture I ran myself.
5 SEMESTER REVIEW
This 5 Semester Review recounts my time in PL from my Freshman year up to my early Junior year, and functions as a summary and reflection document.
ENGL UBI RESEARCH AND DEBATE FORUM
EXTERNAL WEBSITE (WORKS CONT.)
This website is a research project for my English class regarding the debate over the implementation method of a Universal Basic Income in the US. I included this as it works as an extension to my writing works but does not tie in to anything else on the website, giving my portfolio a little more diversity.
CPPL 200 FINAL PAPER
DOWNLOADS
FOR ENGL393 REVIEWERS:
This artifact is my final paper for a Public Leadership Scholars class. This paper's prompt asked me to detail how I view my leadership style based not just on tenets taught in the class, but our personal philosophy on leadership. While most of Public Leadership focuses on Public Policy development and higher level diplomacy and politics, CPPL200 has a heavy focus on interpersonal relations and small-team leadership. Forming plans and executing them are a large part of the course's content.

I feel as if this artifact is a necessary inclusion in showing what I value, as that is quite literally what the paper is about. While telling (and not showing) is not necessarily something I appraise when attempting to get an interviewer to view you in a positive light, this is a more recent document related to the topic of how I lead and write. It is also one of the only existing documents of proper length that is not a college application essay, though I may include those on an ePortfolio later as they define major life-stories for me.
WOODSMOKE'S KINDLING PILE
EXTERNAL WEBSITE (WORKS CONT.)
A personal portfolio and project dump site. This website in particular centers around my digital works.
FOR ENGL393 REVIEWERS:
This artifact is my other, more recent portfolio. While I could have used this one for my 393 submission, I opted to use my Public Leadership Scholars portfolio as it is more professional, and in a better visual state. This portfolio also has a heavy academic focus, whereas my other portfolio is primarily a game design and personal project portfolio. The main reason the other portfolio was developed is due to my recent application to Firaxis games. To better represent myself as an amateur game developer and as a STEM major this portfolio was created to highlight internship projects and personal projects in detail that would not be achievable on my resume.

Much like a traditional art portfolio, this ePortfolio contains imagery and pages for each project, however I have also opted to include a lengthy project description for each of the items on the pages. These descriptions either explain the design process, or necessary use/informational tips about the project, as some of them are technically public release documents meant for users to download. This ePortfolio includes cosplay prop production, past game design projects, and coding/digital game development projects. My third artifact on this page is my (in development) first datapack, which has taken me since August 2022 to develop and release. Please click the link below to travel to my ePortfolio or scroll down on this page to find my artifact description for the datapack on its individual page.
